There’s a lot of information out there about Covid 19 and the various vaccines for it. It’s a lot of hard work to keep up.

That’s why I’ve done the heavy lifting for you. Here are some of the questions I’ve heard about Covid 19 and the vaccines, and the answers to these queries.

I already had Covid. Do I really need to get the vaccine?

Yes, you do. I know that since you’ve recovered you probably figure you have antibodies to Covid. But nobody knows how long those antibodies last. People have gotten Covid twice. The vaccine is much more effective and will provide you with much longer-lasting protection.

I’m pregnant. Can I get the vaccine?

Yes, you can. We know that lots of medications are contra-indicted when you are pregnant so it’s a fair question. The Covid vaccine, however, has been designed so that pregnant women can get it safely.

I’m fully vaccinated. Do I need to wear a mask and stay six feet away from people?

No, you do not! That’s the great news about the vaccine. Once you are fully vaccinated you can go out and live your life as you did before the pandemic.

I currently have Covid 19. Can I get vaccinated?

No, unfortunately, you cannot. You need to wait until you are fully recovered from Covid before you can start the vaccine process.

Does my child really need to get vaccinated against Covid 19?

Yes. While most children don’t get sick from Covid 19 they can be carriers of the virus and spread it to others. Therefore, it is very important that they get the vaccine to avoid becoming Typhoid Marys.

If my child gets vaccinated, what symptoms should I expect?

You probably won’t want to send them to school the day after their vaccination. Common side effects for children include dizziness, tiredness, fever, and general flu-like symptoms. Expect them to stay in bed for a day or two after they are vaccinated.

Can the Covid vaccine affect my fertility or the fertility of my child?

No. There is no evidence that the Covid 19 has any effect on fertility at all. You should still be able to have babies. Your children when they grow up should be able to have babies. It has no effect on fertility.

Will they use the Covid 19 vaccine to track me?

No. Why would they? If they wanted to track you, they could just ping your phone and follow your computer usage. Reports of there being tracking chips in the Covid 19 vaccine are quite honestly hilarious.

If I had the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, should I stop taking my birth control pills?

That’s a very good question. We know that birth control pills can cause blood clots. At first, with the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, it appeared as though there was a higher risk of blood clots with the vaccine.

However, further studies have revealed that there is no increase in blood clots with the vaccine. Therefore, you should be able to continue taking your birth control pills and not worry about it.
